"This opens up with a concentrated nose reminiscent of bark, dark plums and a touch of licorice. The palate is full-bodied and firm, showing plush tannins and an underlying vibrancy that follows through to a tightly wound finish with a hint of dark cherries. From organically grown grapes. Better from 2026."

"Maturing ruby with orange tinges. Quiet a thick, rich nose with hints of dried fruit. Already developing. Lashings of rich but not overtly sweet fruit matched by a layer of grainy tannins. A tiny bit of heat on the finish. Fully ready now. (WS)"

"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is earthy in the glass, with a rich mix of crushed black cherries, sage, sweet spices and smoke. It displays silky textures and radiant red berry aromas. A tactile mineral tinge slowly settles in under an air of savory herbs. Its tannins penetrate deeply, finishing long and staining yet still nicely balanced, with a pleasantly bitter sensation and lingering violet inner florals."
