Brauneberger Juffer:
Named for a former nunnery located on the site, this renowned Grosse Lage is comprised of blue Devonian slate with iron inclusions and nearly due south exposition. There are ungrafted vines in the vineyard that are over 70 years old. This vineyard is extremely steep at 85% at its most extreme. Lieser’s holding are from the best parcels in the middle section or “filet piece” of the vineyard.

"In spite of climate change, this is a very cool and delicate wine, yet it has a stunning brilliance and excellent depth. Long, filigreed finish with stacks of wet stone minerality. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Riesling Brauenberger Juffer Kabinett initially offers smoky overtones, which dissipate to reveal red, tart apple. The palate is serenely smooth with a lovely, aromatic tart red apple vibe and an easy flow that stealthily charms you into taking another sip. Vivid, creamy, light and so bright."

"Clean and refreshing, this is plump with fresh apple flavors that last. There's acidity behind the fruit sweetness, integrated into the layered flavors of the wine."
