"Not surprisingly, the 2020 Bourgueil 'PerriŠres from Domaine de la Butte is more reflective of its warm growing season, tipping the scales at 13.5 percent alcohol in this vintage. However, the wine retains the refined and elegant imprimatur of all the Blot family,s wines, with the bouquet soaring from the glass in a complex blend of sweet cassis, dark berries, violets, cigar smoke, a beautiful base of soil, espresso, a touch of spiced meats, cedar, incipient notes of menthol and a topnote of sweet spices. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, sappy at the core and ripely tannic, with excellent focus and balance, a superb base of soil, impressive complexity and a very long, pure and suavely structured finish. This is going to be brilliant Bourgueil once it is ready to drink. 2053-2080."
