Bourbon Whiskey, Small Batch 7 Year 'Double Barreled'

• Double-oaked straight bourbon whiskey distilled at the Neeley Family Distillery in Sparta, Kentucky
• Small batch vatting of 5 barrels selected by Master Blender Jackie Zykan
• Produced from a mash bill of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley
• Open-top, sweet mash fermented in cypress vats for 5 days using wild Appalachian yeast
• Double copper pot distilled
• Aged 7 years; aged 5 years in 24-month open-air seasoned American oak barrels; aged 2 years in new charred French oak barrels
• A gorgeous bouquet of overripe blackberry and red currant coupled with crème brulee and a hint of spearmint; rich and full-bodied on the palate with toasted allspice, banana bread, and black pepper with a semi-dry, rounded finish
• Gold medalist at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
• Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 54.7% ABV

Hidden Barn’s oldest releases to date was blended from just five barrels—a challenge Master Blender Jackie Zykan describes as a particular challenge, stating, “People think starting with a smaller base is easier, since there are less flavor components in play, but it’s actually harder. With big batches, it’s easier to achieve consistency and camouflage outlying components. But with a smaller batch, such as this with only five barrels, everything has to be intentionally incorporated because any disconnect will show up immediately.”
