"The 2015 Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Verzenay Les Perthois Fins Lieux #1 is a lovely wine. Brisk and salivating, it shows all the nervous energy of Pinot from Verzenay, while vinification in barrel adds complementary richness. Crushed rocks, plums, dried flowers and cedar are some of the many notes that grace this finely sculpted Champagne from David Pehu. Most importantly, the Fins Lieux #1 manages to avoid the vegetal notes that penalize some 2015s. The dosage of 1.5 liters is expertly judged."
