A blend of mostly Mencía with Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) and Bastardo (Trousseau) • sourced from 80-year-old vines from Finca Paluezas in the village of San Juan de Paluzas, situated (very unusually for Bierzo) on a seam of limestone • whole-cluster fermentation in open-top used barriques • 60-day post-fermentation maceration followed by one year of elevage in used 225L barriques • bottled unfined and unfiltered
