"The 2022 Encinas feels cleaner and less reductive than previous years, and it's floral, perfumed and even elegant. It fermented in concrete with 66% full clusters for 30 days and matured in a 5,000-liter oak vat. It's medium-bodied and juicy, with very fine tannins and elegant, floral flavors that linger on the finish. This is the most elegant vintage of Encinas that I can remember. It has a contained 13% alcohol. Some 6,000 bottles produced."

"The 2021 Encinas feels cleaner and less reductive than previous years but still has the earthy rusticity that seems to define Graillot's wines from Bierzo. It comes from three local growers on granite soils (and just a little bit of slate), fermented with 100% full clusters in concrete and matured in a new 5,000-liter troncoconic oak foudre. The wine has clout and concentration despite being only 13% alcohol, and it has lovely rusticity that should make it age."

"Intense and savory on the nose, with leather, Earl Grey tea leaf and forest floor notes, this shows similar concentration to the well-spiced flavors of roasted black plum and black raspberry, yet set in a lithe, light- to medium-bodied frame. Offers plushly textured tannins, which emerge to firm the finish. Drink now through 2028. "

"Lots of stoniness on the nose † very distinctive. Polished tannins and massive minerality but no shortage of flirtatious fruit."
