Bierzo Blanco, Mauro
The first white wine produced by the Garcia family under the Mauro label is not from Tudela del Duero, but rather from further west in the village of Villafranca del Bierzo. It is 100% Godello that was fermented and aged in two 500-liter French oak barrels, one new and the other used. Cold maceration for 12 hours. Pressed and very light debourbage before racking the must to two barrels of 500 liters –one new and the other used- where fermenting took place until 21 October. Bottled in June 2014 after a long period of ageing on the lees. Extremely limited.
