This is total crackers and spelt dough and sunflower seeds and rye crisps; as always the Achleiten of the Rheingau (though with less torque and alcohol than the Wachauer), a singular but moderate beast.

"I love the delicate lilac aroma of this extremely elegant and filigreed dry riesling that is fantastically focused and precise. Only medium-bodied, but incredibly concentrated, stony and salty. Great intensity in the salty finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair Choice certification. Drink from release. Screw cap."

"The 2021 Riesling Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland Grosses Gewächs is stony on the nose and has something of crushed white currant. The palate is immediately juicy, presenting yellow stone fruit with an edge of iron oxide. The palate is concentrated, flanked by grapefruit zestiness that still tingles around the edges. On the mid-palate, everything expands to fill the mouth and mind with its unique citric mix of tart, pithy and full-fruited notions. Vivid, bold, taut and very long. (Bone-dry)"
