Heidi Writes:For sweet wines, it is often the time factor that is responsible for the harmony in the wine. Again and again I was asked by wine friends if I didn’t offer older sweet wines in large quantities for sale.

Well, it’s not that simple. The space and also the tied-up capital if you put aside 10 whole annual harvests… But I thought 100 liters, we can overlay each year! We bought 100 liters of barrels and, starting in 2001, put 100 liters aside each year. Until 2015. There were vintages with more and less residual sugar, lower in acidity, followed by years with more pronounced acid. The variety of varieties is also a “cross-vineyard.” In spring 2018 we then combined and bottled these wines. You could call it non vintage or multi vintage.

"The 2022 Welschriesling & Weissburgunder Beerenauslese was harvested in the second half of November. It has a slight lift of botrytis and is slightly heady and smoky. It is blended because Welschriesling brings freshness while Weissburgunder brings body. The palate has honeyed richness and is super-sweet but also beautifully sharp with lemony yet honeyed acidity. Viscosity makes this intense with the full-on sweetness of candied apricot that comes with an overtone of mint. It is the freshness that defines the long finish. 160 g/L of sweetness stand against 6 g/L of acidity. (Luscious)"
