"The Mauro Molino 2020 Barolo exhibits a lean and silky character with aromas that build in intensity with time. They include underripe cherry, apricot and evenly dispensed oak that is not intrusive. Dried leaves and licorice give the wine an autumnal vibe, and the tannins remain slightly sweet and powdery. This is a 45,000-bottle release."

"Spiced and racy Barolo with ripe red berries, spices, sandalwood and hints of white pepper. Medium-bodied with a dusty texture to its tannins and vivid acidity. Textural and polished, with citrus peel character at the end. Already attractive to drink, but better after two to three years."

"Medium red in hue, the 2020 Barolo has a lovely floral nose leading with notes of fresh rose petals, ripe strawberries, dusty earth, and tea leaf. Medium-bodied, it's weightless on the palate, with fine tannins and elegant citrus. Light on its feet, this fantastic value is approachable now, but it's going to do improve over the coming 8-10 years."

"Refreshing and lively, bursting with the scent of fresh strawberries and an array of enchanting floral notes that contribute to its beauty. Incredibly vibrant and fresh, with a palate that immediately induces salivation. The balance achieved between the sour and tart red fruits and the herbal undertones is remarkable, giving the wine an overall prettiness and elegance with supple tannins and sweet spices on the finish. Drink now–2040.—J.P"

"Molino's 2020 Barolo is a very pretty, classy entry-level offering. Macerated red cherry, orange peel, cinnamon, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco inform this aromatic, mid-weight Barolo. All the elements are nicely balanced throughout. Vineyard sources are Annunziata, Berri and Perno. The 2020 is a real charmer."

"Macerated cherry, strawberry, rose hip and earth flavors highlight this dense, linear red. Leans toward the tannins on the moderately long finish. Delicate but not fragile. Best from 2027 through 2038. 3,500 cases made, 2,000 cases imported."

"This wine shows a combination of lively fruit and elegance that only Nebbiolo can deliver. The Mauro Molino 2021 Barolo offers a terrific and well-priced interpretation of the vintage with redcurrant, blue flower and crushed stone over a fine mouthfeel with tension and energy. This wine jumps the gap into a higher, more exciting level of Barolo intensity. Fruit comes from Annunziata, Berri and Perno on limestone soils. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and moves into large oak casks. The wine offers a pretty, naked portrait of the grape. This simplest wine is one of my favorites. Production is 45,000 bottles."

"The citrus, crushed stone and red fruit come through on the nose. Medium-bodied with firm and linear tannins and a vivid finish. Cherry and cedar at the end. Fresh finish. This needs time to soften the fine, firm tannins, but it's lovely already. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two."

"Based in La Morra, Mauro Molino's 'ambassador' Barolo is assembled around estate vineyards in Berri and Annunziata, with purchased fruit coming from Perno which – being in Monforte d'Alba – is added to give a bit more heft. A fresh and engaging nose exhibits balsamic notes of sage and thyme against a strawberry and red currant backdrop. It has nice breeziness and easy flow without being superficial. There is citrussy tension and a mouthwatering crunch, while light and powdery tannins are decidedly La Morra-esque."

"The Molino family shows a deft hand with Nebbiolo, as is illustrated by the 2019 Barolo. This wine shows great harmony, a lightweight style and a polished mouthfeel, with strong power too. The aromas follow a classic Nebbiolo playlist with small currants, blue flower and rusty nail. As far as classic Barolo goes, the 2019 is about as classic as they come. This wine is especially lifted and bright. With 45,000 bottles made, you get an outstanding value here."

"Raspberries, peaches, roses, white pepper and dried lemons on the nose. So fresh, with chalky tannins that turn juicy and a full body balanced by vibrant acidity. Deliciously open. Approachable already, but better from 2025."

"Pale ruby with an orange hue, the 2019 Barolo is expressive with floral and spice, including dried flowers, fresh herbs, and pomegranate. It is medium-bodied and structured, with elegance and freshness, and strikes a balance between tension and gracefulness. Fresh with raspberries and a note of sandy earth, it is drinking well now but should not be ruled out for aging phenomenally over the next 10-12 years."

"The 2019 Barolo is gorgeous. Bright, translucent and wonderfully expressive, the 2019 hints at a very different style here than in the past. Crushed red berry fruit, wild flowers, mint, sweet red cherry and incense are all beautifully lifted in this weightless, super-classic Barolo from Molino. Impressive."

"A firm red highlighted by ripe cherry, strawberry, hibiscus and tomato leaf flavors. Reveals earth and eucalyptus details, while gripping tannins flex on the lingering finish. Best from 2025 through 2040. 3,500 cases made, 2,000 cases imported."
