"The 2019 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sor Ginestra has an almost botanical feel with lots of wildflowers, iris and garden herb that are layered into dark fruit, spice and rusty metal. The wine does not shy back in term of complexity, and there are many more adjectives that could be applied to the bouquet. In terms of mouthfeel, this elegant Barolo is quite smooth, with enough tannins and acidity to guarantee a long aging trajectory. Production is 11,820 bottles."

"Notes of cherries, bergamot, lilac and pine nuts with hints of bark and licorice. Full and wide with compact but ultra-fine tannins that are evenly distributed across the palate. Very long and deep. Refined and opulent. Well-crafted. Try after 2027."

"A great Barolo with an intoxicating nose of dried violet, almost potpourri, with intense cherry and pomegranate aromas. The elegance and intensity of Ginestra stands out here with incredibly well handled, velvety tannins, lifted acidity, and a super-savoury character. The vibrancy on the finish combined with its cleansing, elegant style ensure it's one for the long haul."

"Generous oak spices are in great harmony with the rich fruits and agile structure of this classic, memorable Barolo. Enticing cedar, cinnamon, iodine and sour cherry aromas meld with warm red cherries, cranberries and chalky mineral notes on an appropriately tannic texture. Best from 2030."

"Coming from 55-year-old vines, the 2020 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Siri Ginestra offers another level of complexity and purity in its aromas of anise, pepper, rocky earth, fresh cherries, and pine. It's well-defined and chiseled, with more depth of concentration throughout, and is going to be an exceptional wine to cellar and enjoy over the coming two decades. Drink 2026-2046."

"The 2020 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra marries finesse with power, as can happen with the best sites here. Crushed flowers, orange peel, spice, mint, white pepper and tobacco lend notable aromatic presence. The 2020 starts easy, then explodes through the mid-palate and finish, showing notable textural depth and tons of finesse."

"The Conterno Fantino 2020 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra has a note of perfumed oak spice, pine cone, licorice root, Pastis, root beer, plump cherry fruit, baked ripeness and wild mint to close. This is a generous, complex and well-structured Barolo. The oak imprint is especially strong at this young stage, and the wine needs more time in bottle. Production is 11,800 bottles."

"Monforte d'Alba. Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Impressive depth and concentration on the nose without going overboard. Becomes more minerally the longer it sits in the glass. More brooding than Vigna del Gris and with hints of oak. Polished, lush, juicy cherry fruit with finely ground tannins. A long fruit finish with the perfect dose of ripe tannins. (WS)"
