"Tasted as a barrel sample and more orange-tinged in color, the 2021 Barolo Conca is compact and concentrated with notes of rosemary and red cherry licorice. It has wonderful structure and purity, and it's mouthwatering and mineral in texture, but it displays great tension and is going to need a few years in bottle for sure."

"The 2021 Barolo Conca emerges from one of the better-known sites in La Morra. Sweet red cherry, orange peel, mint, cinnamon and sweet spice give this mid-weight Barolo lovely aromatic charm. I would give this a year or two in bottle, as the tannins are a bit firm today. There's lovely mid-palate pliancy waiting to emerge."

"This is the pearl in this precious collection of new releases from Mauro Molino. With only 3,066 bottles created, the 2021 Barolo Conca comes from a hillside site in panoramic La Morra with southern exposures. The oak is prominent here (with malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrique), but the Conca fruit has the natural structure and texture to hold an elegant and focused composure throughout. Indeed, I'd say that the wine's intense sharpness is its prettiest attribute. However, I do recommend that you set it aside for more bottle aging."
