"A renovated estate with the younger generation now in charge. The Cannubi is fermented in oak, with malolactic fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tank. Ageing lasts for 30 months (only for Cannubi) in large oak casks. Bright ruby in the glass, this 2019 seems to have lower concentration, with a chocolatey and minty character with cherry and pomegranate. Round to the fore, it's firm on the gums but chewy and lively thanks to brilliant acidity. A very balsamic style."

"Delicate parma violet, strawberry and cherry aromas with velvety tannins, ripe acidity and a savoury, herbaceous character. Long and floral."

"Just mid ruby. Slumbering, perfumed cherry on the nose. Generous cherry fruit on the palate but still compact. Lots of juicy acidity and gripping, finely chiselled tannins. Fantastic balance. (WS) 14%"

"The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is fresh and lifted, with a really fresh approach. Supple with red fruit, red roses, and fresh orange, on the palate it offers fine tannins, a graceful, clean finish with a chalky texture, and a Burgundian aesthetic. A gorgeous wine, it is drinking beautifully now, and I think it will have a long life ahead as well. Drink 2024-2044."

"Floral aromas of violet and rose mingle with woodland berry, new leather and spice on this fragrant Barolo. Still young and primary, the youthfully austere palate features pomegranate, cranberry and star anise set against a backbone of firm, refined tannins and bright acidity. A tangy mineral note recalling rusty iron signals the close. Drink 2029†2039. Abv: 14% Kerin O,Keefe April 2023 'kerinokeefe"

"Available in numbered bottles, the 2019 Barolo Cannubi shows ripe fruit with aromas that recall dried cherry skin or plum. That ripeness gives this wine a slightly heavier approach with sweet notes of almond paste, white chocolate and licorice. Some 16,000 bottles were made, but some of the wine was put aside; and we can expect a Riserva edition of this vintage to be released in 2025."

"Just mid ruby. Minerally nose that is a little locked on the fruit. Elegant palate that opens up to cool, fragrant raspberry fruit and finely chiselled tannins."

"A youthful medium red/brick hue, the 2020 Barolo Cannubi is another well-styled wine with classic notes of dried roses, raspberry seed, anise, and wet stones. It is more forward with lifted minerals, but it retains its lovely freshness and mouthwatering feel, with a light saline note, a touch of bergamot, fine tannins, good length, and a clean finish. Drink 2025-2040."

"The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2020 Barolo Cannubi reflects vintage conditions with baked or cooked fruit, damson plum and fragrant earth. You do not get the floral high notes of a cooler vintage, but instead you receive a heavier expression with softer tannins. This is a near or medium-term Barolo that ferments in oak and ages in barrel for 32 months. Production counts 18,700 bottles."
