"Jeweled ruby in hue, the 2020 Barolo Bricco Luciani is spicier and more layered and presents a more nuanced profile, with aromas of anise, peppercorn, ripe grenadine, menthol, and stony earth. Structured and medium-bodied, it's lifted throughout the palate, with good concentration and a long finish. It offers a very refined feel that's characteristic of the range and the style, while it's also expressive of the more structured profile of the site. Drink 2025-2040."

"The 2020 Barolo Bricco Luciani is another fine effort from Molino. It shows a bit more new oak sheen than some of the other wines in the range, but not in a bad way. Crushed red berry fruit, spice, cedar, new leather and a kiss of French oak all run through this super-expressive, mid-weight Barolo. This sees six months in French oak, followed by 13-14 months in cask."

"A perfumed nose with vibrant cherries, raspberries, red spices, dried rosemary and dried pomegranate skin. A lot of freshness and good energy with a medium body and ripe, well-integrated tannins that form the backbone of the wine. It shows beautiful fruit and it's nicely toned and delicate, yet it remains dry and savory, highlighting its gastronomic aspect. Try after 2027."

"The Mauro Molino 2020 Barolo Bricco Luciani has a spicy nose with toasted oak, heritage rose, pastry cream that is connected to the oak and baked blueberry. However, the oak is driving the bus. The wine shows good acidity but remains very spice-driven throughout. Fruit comes from La Morra, and 4,457 bottles were made."

"A medley of Marasca cherries, cinnamon stick, whole clove, new leather, cedar, and bay leaf greets the senses, unfurling into notes of turned earth as the wine opens. The palate is giving and lush, adorned with raspberry and strawberry compote and a hint of vanilla. Fine tannins and roasted oak notes contribute to an elegant tannic structure, making it a decidedly pretty wine. Drink now through 2040. ‡J.P"

"Bright and expressive, boasting cherry, strawberry, rose and spice aromas and flavors. This red is supple in texture, with ample acidity and refined tannins. This is harmonious and approachable now, yet better in two to three years. Best from 2027 through 2043. 365 cases made, 130 cases imported."

"Aromas of watermelon, melon, oranges, flowers and cherries follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a crunchy finish. Very primary and al dente in nature. Drinkable now, but needs two or three years to come around. Best after 2027."

"The 2021 Barolo Bricco Luciani is gorgeous. Floral and delicate, but with lovely depth, the Bricco Luciano is super-expressive right out of the gate. Kirsch, orange peel, chalk, mint and white pepper give the 2021 an incredibly distinctive, exotic feel. This is such an attractive and complete Barolo. There's a bit of oak, but it works well here."

"Oak sensations of toasted spice and campfire ash are more prominent in the Mauro Molino 2021 Barolo Bricco Luciani. You're definitely going to want to give this bottle an opportunity to age and integrate. That oak will hold it steady in the long run, but in the short term, you can expect spicy fruit, toast and bold cherry. There is a delicate side to Bricco Luciani in La Morra that recalls medicinal herb and eucalyptus. Production is limited to 4,456 bottles."

"A deeper ruby color compared to the 2020 vintage, the 2021 Barolo Bricco Luciani is a noble wine that's very pure and ripe on the nose, with notes of candied roses and ripe strawberries. Recently bottled, it reveals great tension, fresh acidity, and balanced structure, with tense tannins at this young stage."
