100% Nebbiolo from 43 year old vines planted in calcareous blue marl soils. Fermentation and maceration with the skins in steel vats with temperature control, the wine matures in French oak barriques for 18 months. 200 cases produced annually.

“The 2013 Barbaresco Cole emerges from a tiny, postcard-sized parcel just before the start of Montestefano. The Cole is always the richest and broadest of the Moccagatta Barbarescos. Curiously, this is also the first of the estate's vineyards to ripen. An exotic mélange of dark cherry jam, wild flowers, mint, lavender and mocha takes shape in the glass. The 100% new oak is clearly felt but is also very nicely integrated just the same. This racy, forward, intense Barbaresco captures the essence of the Moccagatta house style.”
