Areni Noir 'Karasi'

• 100% ungrafted Areni Noir, an indigenous variety with a completely unique DNA, which has been present in Armenia for millennia – the “king of Armenia’s grapes”
• 1,400 MASL
• Sub-alkaline, sandy, soil rich in limestone and large stones •
• Fermented with indigenous yeast in temperature controlled concrete tanks
• Aged for 12 months in large local amphorae, known as “karasi” buried ¾ in the ground as per ancient local traditions of place for around 12 months
• Aged for 6 months in bottle before release
