"A great village wine that's better than many GGs. Impressive concentration, fabulous yellow fruit aromas and a stunning interplay of creaminess from maturation on the lees, with fine tannins and chalky minerality. So much power and complexity in the very long finish. From organically grown grapes. 70% from the Hundertgulden GG site and 30% from Eselspfad. Vinified completely in large neutral oak. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Riesling Appenheim was picked 20% in the Erste Lage Eselspfad and 80% from the younger vines in the Grosse Lage Hundertgulden, all on Tertiary limestone. Made completely in Stück, it releases a crackling reduction on the nose, but the ripe, creamy apricot, peach and vivid lemon underneath cannot be subdued. That lemon takes over on the palate, with juiciness, zest and absolute precision, framing white and yellow peach. This has so much substance, hitting a beautiful balance between body, superb freshness and lovely texture. This is bone-dry, with such equanimity and grace, and yet so much life and fruit. (Bone-dry)"

"Really mineral intensity as though every grape has been simmered down in a Petri dish. Dense. Bone dry. New style that may shock UK traditional German-wine lovers. Vibrato finish."
