Tasting Notes
Made in the style of a traditional Italian red bitter, Brucato Orchards blossoms in ripe, red fruit and playful bitterness whiel calling to mind California’s rich groves of stone fruit and citrus. Fifteen-plus botanicals featuring apricot, walnut, orange, Meyer lemon, cinnamon, mace, persimmon, and gentian are sourced from both in and out of California and combined with Californian neutral grape distillate in a stepped maceration process. After resting in stainless steel for a minimum of two months, the spirit is sweetened with cane and proofed to its final ABV of 23%. Candied walnuts, orange zest, and apricot jam on the nose spring into a palate of warm baking spice—notably cinnamon & nutmeg— with a lingering, high-toned bitterness that vibrates with lemon and strawberry seeds. Experiment using Orchards as you would Campari, Aperol, or Suze, or delight in its bitter-sweet gregariousness with a neat pour or topped with tonic.
