"The 2022 Rouge Saint Hippolyte is a pure Pinot Noir, even though there are about 5% white Pinot grapes in this massal selection. This is a small production from a tiny parcel with an average annual output of just 2,000 bottles, planted on decomposed granitic soils with fissures that allow for just an inkling more water retention. The nose is alive with tart red berry fruit, some smoky almond and peony petal—vividly fresh and aromatic. The palate carries these flavors right over, adding tannins that are reminiscent of the firm weave of Atlas silk. Fine acidity pervades and strikes an elegant balance. A touch of white pepper appears on the silky finish. (Bone-dry)"
