"Deep crimson. Peppery dark fruit, the aroma marked by the Syrah. But also some notes of herbs and red fruits that I associate with Xinomavro. Smooth but chewy, excellent freshness in a wine that is already complex and could be drunk now with food but has a lot more evolution to offer if you can wait, like all these Alpha reds. The oak is subtle thanks to the richness and depth of fruit and the length of time in the barrel. Dark, suave and elegant with a long peppery finish and just a little bit of fruit sweetness at the very end. A real smooth-talker. (JH)"
