Alpe Alchillea is an herbal alpine liqueur produced using just two botanicals: achillea [aki•lèa], more commonly known as yarrow, and a small amount of mint, both of which are cultivated and harvested in the mountains surrounding the Aosta Valley. Named for the mythical Greek hero Achilles, who used it to treat battle wounds, and characterized by its abundant, tiny white flowers and pungent, chrysanthemum-like aroma, yarrow is a common medicinal herb that has been used throughout history, especially in amari and other herbal liqueurs.
