Renato Cigliuti was an early pioneer of high quality Barbaresco in the early 1960’s when, to the shock of his neighbors, he began green harvesting, opting for quality over quantity. Today the family’s 7 hectares in Serraboella and Bricco di Neive is run by daughters Claudia and Silvia Cigliuti.
It was through a mutual love of horses that Ezio Cocito met a young Giorgio Rivetti, who eventually convinced him to replant his family’s Moscato vineyard in the Bric Micca cru of Neive to Nebbiolo. They’ve been crafting the Barbaresco ‘Baluchin’ (Piedmontese for ‘Star’) together since 2000.

Conterno Fantino is truly a Monforte di Monforte estate: 100% of their vineyards are within the commune of Monforte d'Alba where all 8 family members both work and live. Incredible stewards of these lands, they are now a fully certified organic estate with an eye towards both power and elegance.
The birthplace of Metodo Classico! The 19th century estate, with its cellars excavated by hand in 1900 extending 100 feet underground, was bought by Giorgio Rivetti in 2011. Pinot Noir, sourced from high elevation of the Alta Langa, makes up the majority of all blends, with Chardonnay supporting.
