Sogevinus

Winemaker Ricardo Macedo, who also makes the Douro D.O.C. wines for legendary Port house Kopke, produces two red wines for the Sogevinus label: “850” and “Veedha”. The fruit for both wines is sourced entirely from the Douro D.O.C. “850” is a blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Amarela from the Cima Corgo and Duoro Superior subregions. “Veedha” is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz sourced entirely from the historic Quinta do Arnozelo on the left bank of the Douro River in the heart of the Douro Superior area.

Grapes for both wines are totally destemmed and fermented in stainless steel,  with “Veedha” spending nine months in 225 liter French and Hungarian oak barrels.
