Nashville Barrel Company

Nashville Barrel Company

Operating since 2018 out of Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville Barrel Company is an independent non-distilling producer of spirits with a focus on aging, blending, and bottling approachable, small batch and single barrel cask strength bourbon and rye whiskeys.

CEO Mike Hinds—known in whiskey club circles for his single barrel picks—and James Davenport—Chief Blender/Mix Master/Single Barrel Samurai, former US Navy officer, and owner of one of the most popular bottle shops in Nashville—met in 2017 through charity work and became friends over a shared love of whiskey. After spending time traveling the country to pick single barrels for whiskey clubs and retailers, the two chose to invest in their abilities  and, in 2018, purchased their first barrels for themselves.

Nashville Barrel Company’s first single barrel rye was released in February of 2020, quickly earning the brand a fervent following due to word of mouth, internet buzz, and notable accolades from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and spirits writer and educator Fred Minnick, among others.

Sourcing spirits from MGP and other undisclosed distilleries, Nashville Barrel Company ages, blends, and bottles in Nashville and has never released a blend or single barrel under five years old, operating under the belief that consumers can get young whisky anywhere, but they can’t get good whiskey everywhere. The brand’s meteoric rise has necessitated the expansion of its aging and tasting facilities, and the community-driven operation has raised over three million dollars for various research projects including the F Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, and military veteran organizations such as Boys in Blue.
