Lotis Wines

After spending her formative years experimenting with growing various neighborhood vine cuttings, Lindsey Otis left her hometown of Santa Cruz to attend UC Davis to study Viticulture and Enology. After Davis she set out into the world to gather winemaking experience, travelling to work harvests in France, New Zealand, and Australia, working in both the vineyard and cellar before settling into positions at Williams Selyem and then Big Basin Vineyards. Together these experiences inspired Lindsey to start her own project–LOTIS Wines.

LOTIS is built on the principles of purity, community, and a profound respect for the land and its history. The winemaking philosophy at LOTIS centers around guiding grapes from vine to bottle in a manner that preserves the authentic expression of their origin—delivering a transparent and pure message of place and time. LOTIS employs a natural approach to winemaking–all the of the wines are native yeast, unfined/unfiltered, with no new oak use and minimal intervention in the cellar. Fruit is sourced from cool climate vineyards in both Mendocino (Eagle Point & Provisor) and Carneros (Las Brisas), which are sustainably and organically farmed.
