Jax Vineyards
Jax Vineyards, established in 1996, is a family-owned winery located in Calistoga, Napa Valley. The vineyard was founded by David Jackson and his son Trent, with Trent’s sister Kimberly joining in 2003. Together, they have developed a reputation for producing high-quality wines that emphasize the unique terroir of their estate vineyard. The family has collaborated with renowned winemaker Kirk Venge, known for his expertise with Cabernet Sauvignon, to ensure their wines reflect a strong sense of place and varietal character.
The winery produces two main labels: JAX and Y3. The JAX label focuses on estate-grown, small-lot wines, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which are highly regarded for their depth and complexity. The Y3 label, named after the cattle brand used on the Jackson family’s Australian ranch, offers a wider range of varietals sourced from esteemed vineyards across Napa and Sonoma. These wines are crafted to be approachable and true to their varietal characteristics, making them suitable for a broad audience of wine enthusiasts.
In addition to their dedication to producing quality wines, Jax Vineyards emphasizes sustainable farming practices and hand-harvested production methods. Their commitment to environmental stewardship and family heritage is evident in every bottle, reflecting a blend of traditional winemaking techniques and innovative approaches to viticulture.
