Entremanos

Entremanos

After many years helping to develop brands across the tequila industry in Jalisco, industry veteran Yan Monroy set out to create a label of his own to best represent his personal philosophy of agave spirits. His goals were simple: to produce an additive-free tequila with integrity and transparency, to keep the price accessible, to feature distinctly unique packaging, and most importantly, to collaborate with some of the most talented young voices he’d met in the growing industry. The joyful result is Entremanos Tequila.

Yan was soon joined by Jaime Villalobos Sauza, a fifth-generation Maestro Tequilero of the storied Sauza family and the rising young star helming Hacienda de Oro (NOM 1522) in Amatitán, the historic birthplace of tequila. For this unique collaboration, Jamie chose to center on the production methods of his grandparents and the generations which came before them, using only three ingredients: agave, water, and ambient wild yeast. Every batch is fermented spontaneously, and thus will show subtle variation in each release. For the time being, the team has chosen to focus on the origins of the spirit, producing only unaged tequila: a classic modern blanco at 40% ABV, and a more historic high proof blanco at 50%. Both are certified bangers.

Entremanos is also driven by causes of social justice and gender equality. As the group developed their unique bottle design in collaboration with a team of women who produce the packaging and wind the rope which wraps around its shoulders, they determined to address the lack of visibility most women face in the tequila industry. The upshot is that Entremanos has established a non-profit foundation called Cultivando Lazos, with a mission to support and empower women within tequila and Mexican spirits.
