Syrah, ‘En Cerise’, Cayuse Vineyards
Literally translated, it means “cherry”—appropriate since this 10-acre vineyard planted in 1998 was a cherry orchard in its former life.
Peppery, classic rocks, peat moss, violets and plenty of sweet black cherry and cassis aromas all show here. It is full-bodied, layered, sexy and gorgeously textured on the palate. The texture here is classic Cayuse, and it has fine, sweet tannin that come through on the finish. –Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate
