Pinot Noir, ‘La Cote’, Sandhi
La Côte is a unique site that showcases the distinct soil types of Sta. Rita Hills. It has the perfect amount of clay and silex with layers of decomposed diatomaceous earth. Just 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this marginal site and Sandhi’s westernmost vineyard source, manages to barely ripen Pinot Noir. La Côte was fermented with 100% whole clusters in wood vats.
Santa Rita Hills
Tasting NotesThe 2013 in an ethereal and spicy wine. Subtle notes of wild strawberries and ripe pomegranate hover over hints of chalky soil. On the palate there is the immediate impression of salinity which lifts the silky palate and carries through fine tannins to a complex finish.
