Deidesheimer Hergottsacker ‘SL’ 1er Lage Trocken, Von Winning
Guess what “SL” is. Spätlese! The VDP wants to decouple the predicate names from the dry wines. That seems reasonable. You
can infer the ripeness from the alcohol, assuming the wine is dry.
I liked this best among the 1er Lagen (Spiess, Oelberg and Paradiesgarten) for its peachy aromas and rusky textures and
flavors; it’s fluffy and powdery though bone dry. – Terry Theise
