Crespino, Aldo Rainoldi
100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo) grown at 500-600m in sandy soils. Harvest is late in the season, between the first and second weeks of November. Temperature controlled maceration and fermentation occurs in large vats with regular punchdowns and pumpovers. The wine is then aged 16 months in new French barriques, and 12-24 months in bottle before release. 4,140 bottles are produced only in the best vintages.
