Press & Reviews
The young and fresh 2014 Blanc de Blancs is the new name of the L'Hereu, produced with fruit from the traditional estate from their historical vineyard La Plana (the flatland), plus a new Vinya del Llac vineyard (of the lake) planted some 40 years ago; it is a classical blend of 40% Xarello, 40% Macabeo and 20% Parellada, with nice structure and complexity for a wine that has been disgorged after some 18 months in contact with the lees in bottle. This is a wine of balance, with subtle minerality, soft and fresh, a wine you never get tired of drinking. The bubbles are small and nicely integrated in the wine, giving it a creamy texture. There are notes of white flowers and some nuts, and an almost salty finish. This is a Brut with something between three and five grams of sugar, but it feels very dry. All bottles here carry the disgorgement date on the back label, as the first bottles of this cuvée are released after 18 months sur lie, and the latest ones after almost 30 months.
