CFJ-146

Chardonnay, ‘Haynes Vineyard’, Failla

Planted in 1966 from original cuttings of the heritage “wente” clone, this vineyard represents one of Napa’s oldest continuously producing Chardonnay vineyards.

Concrete Egg (20%); New French Oak (20%); Neutral French Oak (60%); Native fermentation and full malo-lactic fermentation; 484 cases produced.

While certainly the qualitative equal of ’12 and ’13, has a rather different tone. These wines are brooding, intense, elegant and deeply textural. They are wines of meditation and grace and will provide years of growing, fascinating complexity. An incredible reminder of how precious our relationships are, with our own vineyards and the vineyards we source from.

Tasting Notes

Asian pear, candied fruit, star anise and pure floral intensity radiate from the glass. The palate is cohesive with a filigreed texture and vividly focused finish.
