Tasting Notes

Last year’s ’08 was so good we kept buying and buying it until we got scared he’d cut us off. A little vogue built around it, and you won’t be disappointed with this generous ’09. 75% PN, 20% CH and 5% PM, deg 10/2015, and this really blasts those RED Cumières aromas right out of the glass; they’re nearly rugged and certainly ripe and meaty but with an intriguing vein of steel; big-scale juiciness and mouth-filling PN warmth doesn’t prime you for the lemony brightness. A buzzing chatter among its elements. —Terry Theise
